Our Players Confirmed their Scoring Shape in the South

Kulič finished a cautious opening ten-minutes by both sides with a goal. Fabián overcame Doležal on the left-hand side and Kulič volleyed his centred cross into the net- 0:1. The goalkeeper Kučera had no chance against the shot by Kulič from edge of the goal area.

There were moments when the players from Budějovice appeared more active during the first half, however, the most dangerous situations frequently took place in front of Kučera. The defenders blocked shooting attempts by Kulič and Rajnoch after a centred pass by Kalina from the right-hand side. Rajnoch glanced the ball smartly with his head after a free kick taken by Kulič in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper Kučera showed excellent mobility jumping headlong towards the left-hand post to defend his goal. The Budějovice goalkeeper performed a similar feat ten minutes later after Procházka smashed his volley towards goal after a nice cross by Fabián. Kučera was guilty of bringing down Táborský just outside the penalty area in a break situation in the 39th minute. Rajnoch took the consequent free kick and smashed the ball into the wall which hit Hunal so hard that he had to be treated after Táborský had flashed his shot from the rebound centimetres wide of the right hand upright.

A header by Ondrášek from the Budějovice team had just cleared the right-hand post of the Boleslav goal after a cross from by Hudson two minutes before, but the Budějovice forward improved his mood one minute before the end of the first half. Ondrášek ran onto a precision pass in the penalty area and slid the ball past Miller - 1:1.

The Boleslav players continued to press after the break in order to reinforce their dominance but it was Hudson from Buděovice who had the first scoring chance. Fortunately, he missed Miller's goal. Šilhavý, the coach of Budějovice, complained after the match that he should have passed the ball.

An attack by the Boleslav players ended unsuccessfully in the 51st minute and the goalkeeper Kučera kicked the ball out from his goal. Procházka took it in the Budějovice half and passed it precisely to the running Kulič. He rushed into the penalty area and scored for the second time by with a grass cutting strike - 1:2.

The Budějovice players defended their goal after a corner kick in the 61st minute but Fabián took the ball on the edge of the penalty area. He beat a defender before sending a curling effort inside the left hand top corner of the goal - 1:3. This was his first goal in the Gambrinus liga and it was really worth seeing.

Táborský run away along the left-hand side line after a pass by Kulič and shot from the corner of the penalty area in the 79th minute but his shot crashed off the corner of the post and the crossbar. The Boleslav team were lucky in the 82nd minute when the ball agonisingly flew across the goal area out of the attackers reach before going out of play after a free kick. Jan Bořil, a young international player, appeared on the first-league pitch for the first time in the closing minutes of the match however the Boleslav players controlled play and did not allow a repeat of the autumn downfall in the last minutes.
