The French player Ludovic Sylvestre has transferred to Mladá Boleslav from Sparta Prague. The player, with experience in the French, Spanish and Czech domestic competitions, should improve the performance of the Boleslav midfield line. He has already appeared in thirty-nine matches of the domestic I. Gambrinus League and scored three times. . He scored all three goals while in a Plzeň shirt where he played on loan in spring this season. Ludovic Sylvestre has signed a four-year contract with FK Mladá Boleslav.
He was introduced as a Mladá Boleslav player for the first time at noon on Thursday June 19, 2008, at a special press conference. After the press conference, he left for Špindlerův Mlýn where head-coach Hapal and the team are staying at a fitness training camp until Saturday.
Ludovic Sylvestre, a twenty-four year old midfielder, was already considered a big talent by experts as a junior. He progressively worked his way up the ranks at the clubs Courville sur Eure, Lucé, Chartres, Clairefontaine, Guingamp and then Strasbourg, from where the famous FC Barcelona lured him to the Spanish league. He made his debut in the Primera Division in spring 2006. Lodovic only appeared in two league matches for Barcelona’s first team, against Sevilla and Bilbao. He played mostly for the reserve team in the second and third Spanish league divisions.
Ludovic Sylvestre sensationally transferred to Czech Sparta Prague on the recommendation of the manager Ivan Hašek in summer 2006. He appeared twenty-five times in the red shirt in I. Gambrinus League and added the Czech championship to his Spanish one from 2006/07. Sparta sent him to Viktoria Plzeň on loan this February. He played in all fourteen league matches of the spring season in the opening squad in the Plzeň shirt and scored three goals.
Ludovic Sylvestre comes to Mladá Boleslav to strengthen a midfield line weakened by the winter transfer of Marek Matějovský, a Czech international player, to Reading FC in the English Premier League and Ivan Hodúr, his proposed successor, moving to Slovakian Ružomberok after a half-year stay in Mladá Boleslav.
