What is different in preparation for the domestic league and the UEFA Cup?

"League players know each other so that I take this fact into consideration when specifying tactic and tasks before a league match whereas before a match against a foreign team, I must base our preparation on the fact that opponent players are mostly unknown. It means that information provided by the coach should be more detailed and specifically focused on individual performances. For me personally, preparation for a foreign opponent team means a substantially higher number of hours spent with video records."

Do you need to see the opponent with your own eyes or a video record is sufficient in order you could specify tactic?

"Monitoring of an opponent team in reality cannot be substituted by anything, so that I or any of my assistants must watch each rival with our own eyes. It is very important for knowledge of features of the playing style of the opponent."

Do you consider any team of the group G of the UEFA Cup to be a front-runner of qualifying?

„Panathinaikos Athens and Paris Sain-Germain are European giant clubs so that they are certainly front-runners of qualifying from our group but it applies generally that it will much depend on optimum form of individual teams and so each of the participants of our group can qualify. This applies also to our team."

Do you believe that you can use offensive tactic also against Greeks?

„We must put together after series of lost league matches and to do our best to switch the team back to the correct offensive tune and to succeed against exceptionally strong rival on home pitch."

The Greek coach admitted that he would be satisfied with one point; this is not probably enough for you, is it?

"We want to win the match, but as I said, it depends on immediate form of both teams and on progress of the match itself. We wanted to win also the match against Slavia and after its unlucky course, I would be satisfied with one point."

Do you see any respect from your team in the attitude of the Greek coach?

"There is probably some respect for Mladá Boleslav, in particular after elimination Olympique Marseille, but we cannot buy anything for respect, every match is different."
