Football Team President Also Has Moments of Fame

Mr. Dufek very much appreciates the award he has received from the public. „It is my utmost pleasure that someone has noticed what I and my colleagues have done for the community development. It so that I perceive the award to be not just an individual, but rather a collective, acknowledgement for my colleagues from both work and private environment. Just thinking back about the way the Sports Centre looked, about the class of our local football team performance back then makes me remember all those thousands of hours we all have dedicated to complete our complex goals," Mr. Dufek said. Among the presented gifts was also a bottle of bitter spirit. The product's commercial presentation was brought to attention in a prank rendered by the City Hall spokesperson, Ms Jana Huzilova. She commented that "men also have their excuses," in a paraphrase of the spirit's advertisement.
The excuse she was speaking about was to be expected when men are about to savor their favorite drink in due time. "As I was receiving the award, all there was in my mind was my family. Without my wife's tolerant support and my daughters' patience, none of that would have happened." In his speech, delivered in the ceremony, Mr. Dufek expressed his thanks to the City Hall board. He added that his gratitude goes to all board members, regardless of their political positions. "In my opinion, I tend to see football as an apolitical public activity which needs and deserves all support from each political body that has any piece of power within the City Hall. The reasons for this belief are that all the football fans who come to express their club support to the pitch, they also have varied political opinions. Yet it is this noble sport that binds them all for fervent, even ardent, support to any sort of good representation of the city of Mladá Boleslav. Speaking of this, football has done a great job," Mr. Dufek added.
Having distributed all the awards and recognitions, Lord Mayor, Mr. Svatopluk Kvaizar invited all the participants for a toast. It is to be noted that Mr. Kvaizar does not intend to run for the office again. For all the work he has done in the seat, he received many thanks from a great number of participants, including football team officials. On the behalf of the successful football team, Jaromír Šmerda and Miroslav Miller have presented the retiring Mayor with a football with the signatures of all the players and a team photograph in a frame.
